Toast Of Tinseltown announced for BBC One reports…

Matt Berry‘s Steven Toast is moving to BBC One, it has been confirmed.

The corporation has ordered a six-part series of Toast Of Tinseltown (a working title), a sequel to Channel 4 sitcom Toast Of London.

The comedy follows the argumentative and regularly childish antics of deluded actor Steven Toast, now seeking fame and fortune in Hollywood, and is an Objective Fiction production in association with wiip.

Toast Of London ran on Channel 4 for three series from 2012 to 2015, seeing the fictional thespian embark on a series of hilarious misadventures on radio, television and the stage in Britain.

Matt Berry stars as Toast, and also co-writes the series with Arthur Mathews.

Berry says: “I couldn’t be more thrilled to not only be working with Arthur and the rest of the Toast family again, but to also be taking the show to the BBC, which I know Toast himself would very much approve.”
